Dr. Julia Musariri explains the critical shortages facing caregivers at St. Albert’s Mission Hospital. Donations to Better Healthcare for Africa help St. Albert’s purchase such badly needed supplies. Normally, Zimbabwe’s National Pharmacy provides drugs and supplies to St. Albert’s and other hospitals in the country. But the National Pharmacy’s shelves also are depleted, leaving hospitals to fend for themselves. Dr. Musariri describes the situation in this video.
Outside sources for drugs and supplies include nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) such as the Catholic NGO Medeor Action, but the hospital must purchase what they need. Funds from BHA help St. Albert’s make such purchases. It’s an example of how donations to BHA help reduce suffering.
